Arsenal FC started the season on a poor note after all their pre season successes. The vulnerabilities in the squad were revealed by Jurgen Klopp’s men when they hit back four quick goals after Theo Walcott’s first half opener. Liverpool’s attack seemed too much for the inexperienced defence of Arsene Wenger.
They are set to enter a warding off battle with Inter Milan as they club named Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez as their must-get target for this summer. The transfer window is few days away from closing, and the Italians feel Sanchez might be up for a new challenge. They are hoping that the way things are at Arsenal – which might not change soon – might lure the player to join them as they make a renewed bid for the Serie A.
Inter Milan is reported to be willing to drop as much as £69 million to sign the Chile international. Sanchez is yet to agree a new deal with Arsenal, and Inter hope to launch a full attack at convincing the player to step out of the emirates. The former Barcelona player enters his final two years of his deal with the North London club, but the future of the 27-year old remains undecided.
Serie A champions Juventus have already signalled their interest even as Arsenal remain resolute in keeping him. Inter is keen in making an unprecedented attempt at the Serie A after a five time win by Juventus. Inter is also armed with new finance from China, so they are keen to show quick results.
Arsene Wenger has dismissed such tales as mere talk as what happened before play maker Mesut Ozil re-signed. Given Arsenal’s successive difficulty in landing top players, Sanchez might just move on as the future is not so different from what he would get at inter. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry suggested that Wenger play Sanchez with Giroud since he has not been able to land any striker.
