Arsenal lost some of their clear-cut chances with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson coming to City’s rescue on a number of occasions as the gunners squandered most of their chances at goal before the break. City goalkeeper Ederson was in good form as he denied Bukayo Saka before saving from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Towards the end of the second half, Kyle Walker’s boot came close to hitting Gabriel’s head during a corner kick and Arteta was not happy with the referee decision on the incident as he expected a closer examination of the awkward incident.
Despite ruining those missed chances, former Man City assistant coach Arteta had been pleased with the general performance of his team as the team seemed to have made remarkable progress under his stewardship.The defeat on Saturday is their second loss this season as they sit in fifth place on the Premier League table with Arsenal recording three wins and two defeats in their opening fixtures of the 2020-2021 season.
Arsenal’s next match will see them in action on Thursday against Rapid Vienna as they embarked on their Europa League campaign. Arteta’s side will be hoping to give a better performance and record a win in their first away match in the Europa league this season.
They were eliminated from the Europa league last season by Greece giants Olympiakos and they will be hoping to go further this time around in the competition as they look forward to a better season than the previous one.
